Mozambique Dirt - East African Spice Blend

Peri-Peri Sauce: Mix 1/4-1/2 c. Mozambique Dirt with 2/3 c. each apple cider vinegar and olive oil. Let rest in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Spatchcock a room temperature chicken. Divide the sauce. Smoke, grill or bake, basting every 15 minutes until cooked. Let rest, then carve and serve with divided sauce. Serve with french Fren fries, coconut rice and cucumber salad.  

Sprinkle onto burgers, eggs, popcorn, French fries, salads and sandwiches.

Mix with sour cream, milk and mayonnaise for a spicy chip or vegetable dip.

Mozambique Dirt Spice Blends are sifted prior to packaging.  Stand up bags are sealed and zipped to keep the contents fresh. Shaker spice jars  are sealed with a pressure sensitive liner. Store in a cool, dry place, and away from heat. Products may clump due to heat, humidity or improper seal. If your spice blend is clumping, remove from package and resift, or place in a coffee grinder or blender.

Benjamin Franklin is often credited with founding one of the earliest organized firefighting forces in the United States. While he himself was not a firefighter in the traditional sense, his contributions to fire safety and firefighting are noteworthy.

In 1736, Franklin founded the Union Fire Company in Philadelphia, which is considered one of the first volunteer firefighting companies in America. This company was formed in response to the frequent devastating fires that plagued Philadelphia at the time. Franklin recognized the need for a more organized approach to firefighting, including training volunteers, establishing fire prevention measures, and improving equipment.

Beyond organizing firefighting efforts, Franklin was instrumental in promoting fire safety. He wrote and published articles advocating for better fire prevention methods, such as keeping chimneys clean and maintaining fire buckets filled with water in homes and public places. Franklin also invented the Franklin stove, a more efficient and safer heating stove that reduced the risk of house fires.
